Full Meditation Practice
Ideal for anyone who wants more experience guiding Qi from one side of the body to the other. Stay with this practice until you reliably sense Qi moving back and forth — from the head, down through the shoulders, elbows, wrists, and into the hands. Mastering this movement is an important foundation for later practices.
If you don’t feel the movement yet, that’s perfectly normal. Consistent practice is key. Here are some tips to support your progress:
Do household chores or other work before practicing to settle the mind and body.
Experiment with different times of day — morning, afternoon, or evening. Trying it while lying in bed before sleep can improve rest and create an energizing start to the next day.
Cultivate a beginner’s mindset: for a moment, set aside preconceived ideas and approach the practice like a child learning something new. This stance often supports inner-child healing as well.
Practice wherever you are, explore variations, and keep it playful.
Trust the process and believe in your ability to learn.
Exchanging Qi with nature is a reciprocal process: you give and you receive, much like breathing—inhale oxygen, exhale carbon dioxide. Trees draw Qi from the earth while their leaves absorb sunlight, Heaven Qi; in return they release oxygen that sustains life. Do not assume this means you are sending “bad” Qi to nature. The natural world has its own ways of recycling, transforming, and restoring balance. Nature does not judge Qi as good or bad; it is neutral. Still, it is beneficial to open your heart and offer love to nature, and to receive what it teaches you.
Consider fallen leaves in autumn: they wither and decompose, becoming compost that enriches the soil and nourishes surrounding grass, plants, and trees. Nature knows how to cleanse and recycle Qi that appears harmful, so there is no need for alarm. You can try this exchange in your own garden or with houseplants and observe the effects.
Benefits:
Enhances healing ability
Promotes harmony with nature
Supports emotional balance and relieves emotional stagnation
Replenishes personal Qi
Transforms Qi, bringing you into alignment and releasing what no longer serves you
Setting up a home Qi-field meditation (long and short versions)
Learn how to build a home Qi field with a longer meditation; once you’re familiar with the process, you can shorten it to five minutes. The same technique works for group Qi fields useful for group sessions, healers, or one-on-one work and it also applies in the workplace to form a collective or worksite Qi field. Give yourself permission to explore the many possibilities.
Note: If you have difficulty visualizing, focus on sensing or feeling the Qi instead.
Organizing your Qi field harmonizes mind and body, creating a calm, focused, and energetically balanced state. This supports self-healing, increases vitality, improves emotional well-being, and deepens your sense of connection to the universe—providing a strong foundation for effective Qi Gong practice and personal transformation.
As you grow more aware of your Qi, you become more attuned to your own energy and to the energy around you. This awareness is a valuable mindfulness practice: it anchors you in the present, helping you notice thoughts and feelings and bringing inner peace and relaxation. With regular practice it becomes easier and more natural; what may start as longer sessions can become a quick, restorative five-minute routine.
Chanting:
Hun — uniting, integrating, transforming
Yuan — one, whole
Ling — intelligence, awareness
Tong — opening, expanding
Hun Yuan Ling Tong — The unified, intelligent Qi of everything follows the human mind’s intention and becomes immediately realized through uniting and transforming. In other words: access the intelligent, unified Qi of the universe to transform and become one.
Whether you are a healer or new to Qigong, La Qi and Fa Qi are practical tools for daily life. Use them in self-healing, meditation, household tasks, workouts, or to support manifestation work. Some practitioners focus primarily on La Qi because it is powerful and simple: it can be practiced anywhere, at any time. With enough repetition it can shift from physical hand movements into a purely mental practice—becoming a meditation in itself: mental Qigong.
Follow the beat of the music! Dance with it awhile doing Chen Qi, enjoy this wonderful practice.
This is for both standing, and sitting.
DO NOT STOP!
Center of shoulder blades in- out through laogong!
Enjoy!
