Exceptions

I acknowledge that I am not enlightened, nor do I completely understand all aspects of Qi Gong. This is a natural inclination of the human mind; we desire comprehensive knowledge and immediate answers. When faced with uncertainty, we may experience fear or even abandon our efforts if solutions are not readily apparent.

One of the remarkable aspects of Qi Gong is the continuous opportunity for learning and experiencing insights in unexpected ways. This journey offers endless growth and understanding. I often encounter individuals in my Membership program, or those who reach out through direct messages, as well as those observing from a distance, who hold certain misconceptions about Qi Gong. Some believe it is merely a series of physical movements, while others anticipate a mystical, magical experience. While such experiences can occur, it is important to approach Qi Gong without the expectation that these phenomena will happen consistently. The true essence of Qi Gong lies in reconnecting with oneself and maintaining composure amidst life's challenges, such as heartbreak, depression, anger, rage, clarity, and inner peace. These emotions are transient, and the key is not to lose oneself in them but to always find a way back to one's center. This reconnection is a profound experience in itself.


Can Qi Gong change your life? Absolutely. It is a straightforward practice, although I am still working through my own layers of old habits, traumas, and conditioning. We often tend to overcomplicate matters, which can hinder our understanding. We question, "How can something be so simple? Nothing in life is simple or easy." This mindset is shaped by a society built on oppression, capitalism, and white supremacy, making us believe that simplicity is unattainable.


While the methods and theories of Zhineng Qi Gong are indeed complex, and you can read books, watch videos, and study them, true understanding comes from personal experience. Many people give up or become frustrated due to unmet expectations. "The book didn’t mention this," they might say. The purpose of these resources is to provide guidance for your own practice. Although the practice itself is simple, our minds tend to wander, question, and doubt, creating obstacles.


Additionally, many of us become attached to the sensation of Qi, forgetting that feeling is not everything. For beginners, it's natural to want to feel something as validation. However, we often cling to the idea that something must happen or change. While it's wonderful to visualize, feel, and experience these moments, we must remain open to other experiences as well.


Wu Wei (無為), often translated as "non-action" or "effortless action," is a concept that challenges our understanding. It embodies the idea of "going with the flow" within Taoism, which emphasizes harmony with the Tao, the natural order of the universe. While the notion of "doing nothing," may seem simple, it often leads us to overthink. Wu Wei does not advocate for literal inaction; rather, it suggests removing self-imposed obstacles. As an overthinker, I have experienced frustration from incessant thoughts. However, the mind needs a focus an intention to maintain while remaining relaxed.


I occasionally engage in introspective dialogue, which I refer to as "Tea time with inner Jayden." During these moments, I listen to my inner self, acknowledging emotions without judgment. Sometimes my inner self expresses anger as a form of protection, or sadness from undervaluing itself. These conversations allow me to reconnect and listen without fear. At other times, I find unity with myself and my experiences.


This approach may help others realize that not everything requires extraordinary experiences like LSD trips or astral projections. Sometimes, it is about being present with oneself. Life is a journey filled with beautiful moments. Whether or not practices like Qi Gong accompany you, you possess the tools to reconnect with yourself. Avoid placing undue pressure or high expectations on yourself, as these can create barriers. Instead, embrace relaxation.


This is why I decided to create the Garden of Qi program and offer classes. Although I when I first started I was uncertain about where to begin, or what will be effective, and despite experiencing stress and frustration. Mainly because I had this idea, answers had to come now, or this exception of, "I need to fix myself." I am very familiar with these challenges. Qi Gong has been immensely beneficial to me in numerous ways. With each practice and meditation, I gain deeper insights into myself. It is important to release expectations, and simply be present.
